Position Description: The Clerical Assistant III, under limited supervision, is responsible for assisting the site administrator iin a variety of clerical support duties and providing service to staff, students and parents. Qualifications: Type/word process at a speed of not less than 45 wpm Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent including or supplemented by training in typing, computers and office procedures. Two years of clerical experience involving public contact responsiblities, preferably in a school setting. Skills/Abilities: Understand and follow verbal and written directions. Learn District and school rules, regulations, and policies and to apply them with good judgement in a variety of situations. Perform routine clerical duties. Communicate and write effectively. Operate a variety of office machines and copiers. Complete assigned work with minimal supervision. Maintain confidentiality of information. Maintain coooperative working relationships. Maintain a standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate. Comply with the physical/mental demands as described on the ADA profile. Knowledge: Of correct English usage, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation and basic mathematics. Of current office practices, methods and procedures. Of proper telephone technique and etiquette. Of word processing/graphics software, database and spreadsheets. Examples of Duties and Responsiblities: Acts as general clerical support in school office. Types, files answers phones. Operates office machines and copiers. Receives and distributes mail. Assists the students, staff, and the public, as needed. Assists the secretary and site administrator dealing with injured or sick students. Assists with student data and/or scheduling on computer system. Performs other related duties as assigned.
